Senior Medical Practitioner

Are you an experienced Medical Practitioner looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine impact? We are seeking a Senior Medical Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team delivering high-quality primary healthcare services within correctional facilities across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

The Opportunity

In this leadership role, you will provide comprehensive medical care, supervise clinical services, and support the delivery of safe, evidence-based healthcare. You'll work alongside experienced nursing, allied health and medical teams while contributing to service development, clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality primary medical care and ongoing patient management.
• Lead and support junior medical staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in on-call arrangements and clinical leadership.
• Contribute to the development of clinical policies, protocols and service improvements.
• Promote quality, safety and best-practice healthcare outcomes.

About You

• Current Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Minimum 5 years' post-graduate medical experience.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in emergency medicine, mental health or drug and alcohol services is highly regarded.
